So how important is all this Social Media malarkey I hear you ask. It’s a fair question.

Well maybe some of these stats and facts may make it clearer…

The total worldwide population is 7.8 billion. Over 50% of this global population use social media! That’s 3.8 billion social media users (an increase of 9.2% since 2019)

84% of people with internet access use social media.

67% of the UK use Social Media; that’s roughly 45,000,000 people.

The average daily time spent on social is 144 minutes a day (Q3 2019)

On average, people have 8 social media accounts.

One in every five minutes spent on a mobile is on Facebook.

98% of 18 to 24 year-olds use social accounts every month.

79% of UK adults with internet access use Facebook

46% of Facebook users are 45 or older

47% of consumers are somewhat likely to buy from a brand they follow online.

53% of consumers are more likely to buy when they can contact the business personally and directly e.g. Facebook Messenger

92% of all Instagram users say they’ve followed a brand, clicked on their website or made a purchase after seeing a product/service on Instagram

The average Facebook user has clicked 12 ads in the last 30 days.

Social media users are willing to pay a 21% premium for brands that deliver great service through social media.

So, I think it’s fair to say, if you’re not getting any return from your Social Media, you’re effectively leaving a crazy amount of money on the table…and no-one wants to do that!
